Fremantle Sea Rescue Communications Upgrade

Updated: Sep 4, 2019

We have recently had the opportunity to upgrade Fremantle Sea Rescue's Radio over IP (RoIP) system, allowing further command and control during their high-risk operations using CISTECH's WAVE Radio over IP solution. Fremantle Sea Rescue consists of 100 volunteers, who are required to be on call 24 hours a day every day of the year. These volunteers answer over 30,000 calls and respond to, on average, 600 calls for rescue or assistance a year.

With their newly implemented Radio over IP system, volunteers are now able to monitor the safety of Fremantle waters from anywhere in the world. Members can monitor all radio safety networks using the WAVE system from their Operations Centre, or from any of their mobile devices, meaning that no call for assistance will go answered, day or night.

Fremantle Rescue received the Volunteer Marine Rescue Team Achievement Award for 2018 for this state-of-the-art technology update from the Minister for Emergency Services, Hon. Francis Logan.

Contact us if you'd like more information on how we can implement a Radio over IP solution for you.
